The Right Questions in the Right Order

The November EBWC for the Bournemouth & Christchurch Group brought an eclectic mix of professional expertise and good humoured sharing!
From how to question yourself to achieve the best outcomes to why skin care is even more important than what we use to cover it!
Well done Lindsay Shephard and Lynne Henderson for your Spotlight Presentations! It was hello to some new faces including the Arts University, Foot Health, Relationship Coaching and the world of Web! Welcome on board too as Diana Blankson of Dorset Software has signed up to be a new member, we look forward to finding out more about the company and you over the coming months
Although we had four apologies (note to you ladies … send your minute or even better a sub) there was plenty of interaction and recommendations from members and visitors alike.
With her usual outgoing manner Lynne Henderson gave the first presentation with a hands on demonstration of how skin care is vital if we are to retain the best results whether we do or don’t wear make up. A selection of products on display and an invitation to her December pamper day along with round the table business card raffle prove by sharing your knowledge, working with integrity and inviting client interest brings positive business connections .. still not sure the blue lipstick will be resounding success Lynne is sure to continue to be!
During the meeting a very relevant point was made by one of the members who acknowledged although employed in a professional capacity and always willing to discuss future client needs she derives so much from the meetings on a personal level. It has long been the intention of EBWC to offer structured networking in an informal manner. Where recommendations and testimonials are the key to constructive business links .. it is also heartening along with this some enduring friendships are made and an appreciation of being able to discuss the ongoing challenges of work life balance and how to make it through those early years of raising a family and pursuing your career!
The second Spotlight Presentation from Lindsay Shepherd Hypnotherapist gave us a clear insight into how if we ask ourselves the right questions .. and in the right order .. a better idea as to how we progress things will emerge. Lindsay as an accomplished trainer and practitioner gave handouts so we could apply this thinking for ourselves and it was interesting how many of the women were able to relate to how this could work for them .. examples of how we are so good at letting our fear prevent us even exploring new opportunities. An overview of her background further showed how taking a chance from a very different career brought the chance of a totally different career, what better example to ask yourself the right questions and make those changes ready for 2019
When a group of people meet and have a shared intention to understand what each other does rather than simply promoting themselves it brings results. Examples were readily shared how former members had been in contact to request contact details .. this brings about the ‘are you a go to person ..?’ question. Rapport is key to positive networking, being approachable was evident in each introductory minute. People buy people and it is the intention of this Group over the coming months to add even more to the membership.
